Oklahoma Credit Unions – Generating Public
and Legislative Support
Generating public and legislative support for Oklahoma
credit unions in Oklahoma City and Washington D.C. is
an important function of the Oklahoma Credit Union League.
It helps ensure that credit unions have the freedom
they need to effectively serve their members and results
in more equitable regulations and laws.
Strong communication is also key to serving credit
unions in our state. The Oklahoma Credit Union League
Public/Legislative Affairs department handles these
responsibilities:
- Lobby state and national lawmakers
- Help draft state and federal credit union legislation
- Monitor bills and gauge their impact on credit unions
and members
- Develop OCUL communications and marketing
- Write legislative updates
- Assist with credit union media needs
- Promote credit union events and issues
- Organize and track OCUPAC/CULAC* fundraising
- Coordinate awards programs
